Point Udall in St. Croix is the Easternmost Point in the United States and home to the Millennium Monument, a sundial, that was built above the point in 2000.
GETTING TO ST. CROIX:
Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX)
Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, situated on the southwest side of St. Croix, It’s about a 15 to 20-minute drive from two popular destinations — Frederiksted and Christiansted.

American Airlines: Direct flights from Miami (MIA) and seasonal direct flights from Charlotte, North Carolina
Spirit Airlines: Direct flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO)
St Croix is also accessible via San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) via other major carriers like United that often link with smaller regional airlines like Silver | Seaborne Airlines and Cape Air. Inter-island connections are available via Seaborne, Cape Air and other smaller regional airlines. St Thomas (STT) is just a 25-minute flight away.
On-island Transportation
Once you arrive on St Croix, a rental car is essential. They drive on the left-hand side in American-style cars. Rental cars can be obtained at the airport but should be reserved in advance. There is no Uber on St Croix and taxis are expensive.
Car rental companies on island with pickup at the airport include Centerline Car Rentals, Budget, Hertz, and Avis. Their windows are located on the outside street as you exit the airport toward the baggage claim, which is also outside.
Carambola Zip Lineadventure begins with a 30 minute Safari Bus ride to the very top of St. Croix. Once you arrive at the top of St. Croix at Base 1, elevation of 750 ft, you begin your Zip Line Adventure. Line 1 is The Mongoose, a nice and easy way to get comfortable and experience the line for the first time. Once warmed up and comfortable, next is the biggest line The Gauntlet! This is one of the bigger Zip Lines you will find. Finally, you arrive at the Carambola Run. This is the fastest line of them all speeding you back across the valley. When the zip line tour is finished you land at Base 4 where a beautiful historic sugar mill sits, offering awesome photo opportunities. The Safari Bus greets you once again and takes you a short 8 minute drive back to the Welcome Center.
Bioluminescence kayak tour explore St. Croix’s stunning bioluminescent bay, where you can find glowing water, like pixie dust, sparkling through the water. St. Croix’ Bioluminescent Bay is home to five different organisms you may experience throughout your tour. They are only visible when the water is agitated, but with the Hobie Mirage Drive Kayak with a pedaling device and a rutter, your hands are free to move the water to see the glow. They also provide each guest with a hand-held net to better agitate the water around them. The best time to explore bioluminescence in St. Croix depends on the moon cycle and the time of sunset and moonset. Located within the small Salt River marina, right on the edge of this National Historic Park, one of the only ten studied super glow biobays (meaning it glows 365 days per year!) left in the world.
Sandy Point in Frederiksted is a state park and a protected turtle nesting ground, so it is only open on weekends starting September 1st. The water and white sandy beach are breathtaking. Check their website for details at

Beaches
Rainbow Beach is a nice sandy beach with clear, calm waters. The beach faces west giving great sunsets. There is a beach bar serving food and drinks. Rainbow Beach also has a water sports center located onsite. www.rainbowbeachstx.com
Jack and Isaac’s Bay Preserve Trail on the East End – 301 acres of white sand beaches and upland forests, surrounded by a pristine offshore barrier reef. Jack Bay and Isaac’s Bay are accessible only by foot, but the hike is scenic and the beaches are worth the effort. Take drinking water.
Shoy’s Beach on the East End -Turn into the Buccaneer hotel main entrance, then bear right just before the hotel main gates. Stop at the gated guard shack to identify yourselves, then proceed to the parking lot at the end of the road. Follow the path for a short walk to the beach.
Cane Bay Beach on the North Shore is a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike. It is also a popular place for families to spend time with their kids, and dogs, because it’s a one stop beach that has everything. With access to several bars and restaurants right from the beach, it makes for an easy and enjoyable beach day. Great snorkeling and scuba diving right from shore.
Frederiksted Beach is walking distance from Frederiksted and the cruise ship pier. A small, lovely white sand beach that offers instant access to the lovely Caribbean Sea right from the Frederiksted waterfront. This beach tends to be heavily populated when cruise ships are in port. It is a great launch point for snorkeling through the pylons of the pier. The formations of coral and sea life right on those pillars is incredible.
Tamarind Reef Beach located on the East End, alongside the Tamarind Reef Resort affords beautiful views of both Green Cay and Buck Island. This small stretch of well-maintained beach boasts rows of towering palms and amenities galore. The beach has hammocks and cabanas for lounging, great snorkeling just off the beach, and activities available from the beach shack.
Note: Beaches will be relatively quiet and laid back during the week, and more crowded on weekends.
